August 31, 2011 // 1 Comment

Elevator Action Deluxe (Playstation Network) Developer:  Square Enix Publisher:  Square Enix Genre(s): Platformer, Arcade Released: August 30, 2011 ESRB Rating: T – Teen In 1983, game developer Taito released Elevator Action in the arcades, and it was a popular arcade game that was later ported to home consoles as an NES title in 1985. That port is available on the Wii’s Virtual Console. But now, some 28 years after the release of the original Elevator Action in arcades, Square Enix has delivered a remake titled Elevator Action Deluxe available now exclusively on the Playstation [...]

Counter Strike: Global Offensive Trailer

August 26, 2011 // 4 Comments

Counter Strike: Global Offensive will be available in 2012 as a downloadable title for PC, Mac, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. Just as Valve did with Portal 2, Counter Strike GO will feature Steam on PS3 allowing for cross platform play with PC, Mac, and PS3 players all playing together. Xbox is a closed system, so no Steam for 360 players. The PS3 version will feature Move support, and support for a keyboard and mouse, so it won’t be as unfair to all PS3 players who get lumped in with PC gamers. Those of using a Dualshock may have a hard time though, but it’ll be a good challenge. [...]

WWE ’12 – New Predator Technology Trailer

August 18, 2011 // 1 Comment

The above trailer for WWE ’12 shows off all the new visual and gameplay changes that have been made possible with the new Predator technology. From the trailer, you tell that WWE ’12 will obviously be the most authentic looking WWE game to date with all new broadcast camera angles, and rope and ring physics. Gameplay looks a lot smoother and the animations don’t appear as clunky. All great things. Hopefully THQ releases a demo for this game like they did for All Stars, to convince people who say “it looks like SvR 2011” that the game actually plays different. My [...]

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Trailer

August 18, 2011 // 0 Comments

My two most anticipated games of the year are Uncharted 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The new trailer above should make it pretty clear why Assassin’s Creed is one of the two; it looks awesome. These games have improved each time out, culminating with last year’s Brotherhood which was amazing. If the trend continues, and I believe it will, Revelations will be even better than Brotherhood… and that’s no easy task. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations hits stores on November [...]

Uncharted: Golden Abyss Trailer

August 18, 2011 // 0 Comments

Look at how awesome that game looks. Golden Abyss looks like it could release on PS3; that’s how good the graphics are for the portable title. You often hear people refer to a game as a “system seller,” but I’ve never subscribed to one game or one franchise being the reason to purchase a system… until now. Uncharted: Golden Abyss will be the reason I buy a PS Vita. Heck, the Uncharted franchise should be a key reason why folks buy a PS3 for the first time. I would say too bad we have to wait until next year for this, but Uncharted 3 comes out in November so [...]

Saints Row: The Third Killbane Story Trailer

August 18, 2011 // 0 Comments

Saints Row: The Third isn’t just about running around doing insane stuff for the fun of it, there is a story to the game, and that’s what the latest trailer for the game shows off. Here we get a good look at Killbane, the famous wrestler who also leads the Syndicate street gang  known as the Luchadores, who control the weapons trade in Steelport. Of course the Saints are looking to take these guys out, and the whole Syndicate, because they want control of Steelport. The trailer also features the first in action look of Saints ally Angel De La Muerte, former tag team partner of [...]
