UFC Undisputed 3 Demo Impressions

January 30, 2012 // 0 Comments

The demo for UFC Undisputed 3 hit PSN and XBLA last Tuesday, and I’ve finally been able to take it for a spin after looking forward to it for quite a while. Here’s some quick impressions. The demo features a one round UFC fight with Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, and a one round PRIDE fight between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva. The gameplay boat hasn’t been rocked any. Controls are just like you will remember them from previous games, and that’s okay with me because the controls work and feel [...]

“I Like George Washington Except on Foreign Policy”

January 30, 2012 // 0 Comments

This excellent piece was written by Jack Hunter on the Paulitical Ticker at Ron Paul’s philosophy is that of the Founding Fathers. For Paul, the Constitution is the law of the land, not a mere rhetorical tool. For Paul, maintaining limited government means “eternal vigilance,” to borrow Thomas Jefferson’s phrase, against political leaders’ tendency to empower themselves at the expense of the people. One of the ways government has historically empowered itself is through constant war. Like the Founding Fathers, Ron Paul believes in a strong national defense. Also [...]

Even At “Record” Highs, Gasoline Is Still A Bargain

January 30, 2012 // 0 Comments

Gas prices have been in the news again here recently, see here (record highs) and here ($4 gas coming this year). Currently, the average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.39. That seems high, and certainly isn’t fun to pay, but when things are put into perspective you see that gasoline is really quite a bargain and really hasn’t gone up much at all (or any). Let’s look back at 1964 for a moment. Gasoline was at 27 cents per gallon! Ah, the good old days. Imagine that, you could buy a gallon of gasoline for a measly three dimes. The average hourly wage for workers in the private [...]

WWE RAW 01/30/2012 Preview – Triple H Confronts John Laurinaitis

January 30, 2012 // 0 Comments

It’s the night after the 2012 Royal Rumble, an event where CM Punk retained his WWE Championship and Daniel Bryan retained his World Championship, and which saw Sheamus win the Royal Rumble match, and the only thing WWE has announced for tonight’s Monday Night RAW is Triple H “grading” John Laurinaitis’ job as interim RAW general manager. Will Triple H wish Johnny Ace the best in his future endeavors tonight? Will Sheamus decide tonight which championship he wants to challenge for at WrestleMania? Will John Cena finally embrace the hate and get retribution on [...]

Mike Tyson to be Inducted into WWE Hall of Fame

January 30, 2012 // 0 Comments

WWE today announced that Mike Tyson will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31st. Tyson was heavily involved in the build up to WrestleMania XIV, where he served as the special guest enforcer in the WWE Championship match between Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Tyson, who was supposedly a member of Degeneration X at the time, counted the three for Stone Cold giving him his first world heavyweight championship. After the match, Tyson delivered a knockout punch to Shawn Michaels. Iron Mike also served as a special guest host of Monday Night RAW back in 2010. Tyson joins [...]

MLB 12: The Show Adrian Gonzalez Cover Revealed

January 19, 2012 // 0 Comments

A couple of months ago it was announced the Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez would be gracing the cover of the PS3 and PS Vita baseball game MLB 12: The Show. Today, that cover was revealed. Check it out below:   Man, those Vita boxes are sweet, probably because blue is my favorite cover. These boxes will be gracing store shelves on March 6, 2012. Hopefully a demo hits [...]

Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland Prolouge Trailer

January 17, 2012 // 0 Comments

Above you’ll find the prolouge trailer for Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, which is being localized in North America this spring by NIS America. I’ve never played one of these games (and there’s a ton of them), but I’ve seen videos before and I have always been interested in them. I’ve been playing a ton of Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny since I got it for Christmas, and that has me really wanting to get into this series (even though the two aren’t very similar). Will definitely be keeping an eye on this [...]

Kenny Florian possibly retiring.

January 13, 2012 // 0 Comments

From F4W: “The Boston Herald has reported that Kenny Florian, 35, who has unsuccessfully challenged for the lightweight and featherweight titles, may have to retire due to a herniated disc in his lower back. Florian said he had been bothered with back problems for years, but they worsened in November with a weightlifitng injury that hasn’t allowed him to do any training, and that both his neurologist and orthopedic doctor have suggested he retire. Florian categorized his decision as in a holding pattern, looking at taking a few months off from training and hoping he will heal up, [...]

Ric Flair says he will be on stage for H.O.F induction

January 13, 2012 // 0 Comments

“Ric Flair told fans during an autograph appearance Thursday at a Walmart in Burlington, North Carolina that he will be “on stage” for WWE’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony WrestleMania weekend (March 31, 2012). Flair, who is under contract to TNA Wrestling, was advertised by WWE this week as one of the Four Horsemen to be inducted at the ceremony.” From WrestleNewz Editor’s note: That my friends, is huge. A horsemen induction without Flair would have just been sad to see, in my opinion anyway. I do wonder though, just how many people are getting rings here? Will it be [...]
