Q.D.R #87: Ladies and Gentleman, My Name Is Paul Heyman (2014)

May 1, 2015 // 0 Comments

Ladies and Gentleman, My Name Is Paul Heyman (2014) Last year WWE released this disc, which I watched as soon as it came out, and have now recently re-watched it. If there’s one thing WWE knows how to do well, to balance out all of the stuff they have forgotten how to well (like pretty much everything else…)is to produce individual biographical DVDs of their talent. Also, if there’s one thing that Paul Heyman knows how to do almost better than anyone else, it is tell stories, especially stories about Paul Heyman. So looking at it from the perspective there’s literally no chance that [...]

AJ Lee Retires From WWE

April 3, 2015 // 2 Comments

WWE.com posted the following this afternoon, announcing that former Diva’s Champion AJ Lee has decided to retire from WWE: AJ Lee (April Mendez) has decided to retire from in-ring competition with WWE. We wish AJ the very best. AJ has been a favorite of mine for a number of years now, so of course I hate to see her leave. At the same time, I’m happy for everyone who gets to fulfill their dream of making it to WWE, and winning gold, and then able to get out of that meat grinder. A ReView From the Rafters: NXT Takeover – Rival (2/11/15)

February 11, 2015 // 3 Comments

Hideo Itami vs. Tyler Breeze – This match was just added to the card during the pre-show, but I think most of us expected it to be added because there was no way Itami was going to be left off the show. This made sense for the opener and both guys worked hard to deliver a good match. It wasn’t a show stealing performance by any means, but still a good solid opener that made both guys look good. Itami especially shined though. I’m with TVE co-hort Jules in that I’m going to mark out hard when Itami finally hits the Go To Sleep instead of simply teasing it. Great things [...]
