The Icon Sting Announced As Pre-order Bonus for WWE 2K15

WWE 2K15

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpWoquodmPs For the first time ever, wrestling icon and the franchise of WCW STING will appear in a WWE ring... in video game form. Last night during Monday Night RAW, WWE debuted the above trailer announcing that two versions of Sting will be available as DLC for those who pre-order the game. You can check out which versions of Sting in the roster art below (not in-game shots though). Sting is available when you pre-order at any participating retailer, which is sure to be most of them here in the states. WWE 2K15 hits PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 on October 28th. Smith's Sentiment: I'm obviously super excited that Sting, one of my favorites of all time (I didn't write under the screen name "Stinger" for years for no reason after all), will … [Read more...]

Geeky Vortex #1: Transforming The WWE Diva’s Division

Geeky Vortex

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the first installment of Geeky Vortex, a new collaborative column series from myself and Nikki from the great blog Geeky Nikki. For this first edition, we decided on a wrestling topic (which will probably be pretty common for this series). More specifically, the surprising return of AJ Lee to WWE a week ago has us talking about WWE's Diva's division and how we would change the division to make it more serious. For this first outing, we're running with a simple layout. Nikki's thoughts and ideas will come first, and then my section will come after hers. This basically allows you to read two different columns in one. Maybe in the future we can add some interactivity between the two of us, but for now we're going with the basic. Drop us some comments leaving … [Read more...]

WWE 2K15

WWE and 2K has announced that the cover for WWE 2K15 will be be revealed light tonight on RAW by Stephanie McMahon. RAW airs at 7pm CT on USA Network. https://twitter.com/StephMcMahon/status/483731717367558145 https://twitter.com/WWEgames/status/483731937308053504 WWE 2K15 hits stores on October 28th for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360. Smith's Sentiment: I'm not even going to venture a guess, but nonetheless I'm hyped for the game this year. Also worth noting that the previous two years the cover has been revealed on RAW, and on that same night a trailer has debuted. If that historical trend continues, we should see our first look at the game tonight. … [Read more...]

WWE Money in the Bank 2014 Predictions

It's been a while since I have written anything wrestling related for the site, but since I'm actually looking forward to Money in the Bank (and was inspired to write my own after reading Nikki's predictions on her wonderful blog GeekyNikki) I've decided to write up my predictions for tonight's WWE Money in the Bank event on PPV and of course WWE Network. Now I'm not going to just try to predict the winner of every match, I'm also going to try and predict the match order for the entire night. There are seven matches announced, and none of them have been announced for the pre-show (that seems to be a Daniel Bryan interview), so I should be good to go since I doubt they add in another match. So I'll start my predictions off with the match I think will open the show, and will end with the … [Read more...]

WWE Pays Tribute to Connor Michalek

WWE Logo

Back in late April, Connor Michalek, a young WWE fan battling cancer, passed away due to his illness. The young fan met his favorite wrestler, Daniel Bryan, back in 2007 following a social media campaign to get the two to meet. It took WWE less than a day to confirm that meeting would take place. Since then, young Connor has attended numerous WWE events as a guest and became close with Daniel Bryan. He last attended WrestleMania XXX as a guest with front row seats to see Daniel Bryan win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Today, WWE uploaded a great tribute video for Connor showing him defeat Triple H, backstage with Bryan and Stephanie McMahon, and enjoying WrestleMania with his dad. It's a touching video that you can see below, and you really should watch it even if you aren't a … [Read more...]

WWE RAW 5/5/14 Preview: Extreme Rules Aftermath

RAW Feature Image

Last night, WWE delivered a pretty good event on WWE Network and pay-per-view. Extreme Rules was, in my opinion, highlighted by a great and wild six-man tag match between The Shield and Evolution that saw The Shield come out victorious. Tonight, RAW will kick off with a 20-man over the top rope battle royal for Dean Ambrose's United States Championship. This match was announced by Triple H on Twitter as being "best for business," so Triple H is through with The Shield just yet. Also tonight, it's the debut of Adam Rose. I know some folks are looking forward to that. I haven't been a fan of the gimmick thus far in NXT, and I don't think it'll go over well on the main roster, but I'm hoping for the best. Gimmick aside, Adam Rose is pretty good. That's all that's been announced for … [Read more...]

WWE Smackdown 5/2/14 Preview: US Championship Fatal 4-Way

WWE Smackdown

Tonight's episode of Smackdown is the final WWE show before this Sunday's Extreme Rules special event. Smackdown was taped Tuesday in Kansas City. Below is a NON-SPOILER listing of the matches that will air tonight. Extreme Rules WeeLC contract signing between El Torito and Hornswoggle Rob Van Dam vs. Jack Swagger R-Truth vs. Alexander Rusev The Wyatt Family vs. The Uso's & Sheamus Dolph Ziggler vs. Damine Sandow Big E vs. Titus O'Neil United States Championship Fatal 4-Way: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Ryback vs. Curtis Axel vs. Alberto Del Rio Smackdown airs on SyFy at 7pm CT. Smith's Sentiment: Looks like a good show. The US Championship match was originally announced as a three-on-one handicap match for the title, but WWE changed that Tuesday during Main Event. I guessed they wised up … [Read more...]

WWE Releases Several NXT Wrestlers

PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE released several NXT talents today, one being a former main roster star and another being a second generation diva. Here's the list of confirmed talents released today. I suppose the list could grow, and if it does we'll be sure to update this post accordingly: Mason Ryan - Former member of the main roster as a member of CM Punk's New Nexus. Shaul Guerrero - Daughter of Eddie & Vickie Guerrero. This was her second stint in WWE developmental. Oliver Grey - The former NXT tag team partner of current NXT Champion Adrian Neville. Danny Burch UPDATE: WWE has also released NXT Diva Sarah Blackman. We'll see if the releases end there, or if they spread to some main roster cutbacks as well. Smith's Sentiment: I suppose Mason Ryan is … [Read more...]

WWE Main Event 4/29/14 Preview: Bray Wyatt vs. Sheamus

WWE Main Event

Tonight's episode of WWE Main Event features a big time match up between Bray Wyatt and former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. No other matches have been announced for tonight's show. Main Event airs tonight at 7pm CT live on WWE Network. If you can't catch the show live, it'll of course become available for on demand viewing as soon as its original airing concludes. Smith's Sentiment: I'm interested in seeing what'll happen tonight. Obviously, WWE can't have Bray Wyatt losing going into his big steel cage match against John Cena this Sunday at Extreme Rules. At the same time, Sheamus doesn't get jobbed out often. Considering that Sheamus has apparently started a feud with Titus O'Neil (ugh), I wouldn't be surprised to see Titus get involved. … [Read more...]

Bray Wyatt Has the Whole World In His Hands, Watch RAW’s Awesome & Creepy Opening Segment

RAW Feature Image

Tonight's RAW started off with what I'd consider one of the best opening segments in years. Last week, the WWE Universe voted John Cena to face all three members of the Wyatt Family. Tonight, John Cena started the show off inside a steel cage asking the WWE Universe "why?" and telling them they don't understand Bray Wyatt. Cena was interrupted by a singing of "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" from a children's choir. The children, which is John Cena's fanbase, sung along with Bray Wyatt and donned sheep mask, much to the horror of John Cena. It was a creepy and totally awesome way to start the show, and if you didn't see it then I highly recommend that you watch it below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR6yVUxXnyA John Cena and Bray Wyatt will meet in a Steel Cage match this … [Read more...]
