PS4 owners, be sure to check out War Thunder when it hits on Tuesday. PS4 owners with PS+ can also pick up Trine 2: The Complete Story and PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate free on Tuesday. Tuesday also sees the release of the demo for EA Sports UFC on PS4 and Xbox One. Capture and Play as Villians in Skylanders: Trap Team

Skylanders Trap Team

The ever popular world of Skylanders continues to expand this Fall with the release of the new entry Skylanders: Trap Team. This time around, developers Toys for Bob are expanding on their portal machine toys-to-life mechanic by reversing that processing. A special new portal, called Traptanium Portal, allows you to trap villains in the game and bring the digital characters to "life in the real world." Now of course it's one thing to take a toy, put it on a portal, and have it come to life in the video game. Obviously the reverse can't happen, but short of a hologram it seems like Toys for Bob has found a way to at least bring that illusion to life in a way that's going to be cool for kids. The portal has a built in speaker that will allow players to hear the voices of villains as they … [Read more...]

Interactive Genre(s): Action, Open World Released: October 22, 2013 Price: $49.99 ESRB Rating: E - Everyone The latest LEGO game hit stores yesterday for basically every platform available (and it’s coming to PS4 and Xbox One as well). My first actually experience with a LEGO game came earlier this year with the Wii U exclusive LEGO City Undercover. I greatly enjoyed that game and have been looking forward to this Marvel themed one ever since. Unfortunately I’m going to have to wait until I buy the game, but I did take the game’s demo for a spin on PS3 last night. When I do finally get this game, I plan on doing so for Wii U. But for some reason there isn’t a Wii U demo available. I thought LEGO … [Read more...]

Nintendo Announces 2DS, Available In October

Nintendo had a surprise announcement today; they're releasing an "entry level" portable game system in October. It's called Nintendo 2DS and as its name implies, it is a 3DS without the ability to render 3D. It's also a monster. As you can see, there's no folding that thing. It looks hideous. If you fancy one of these though it will be available in October in either red or blue for "only" $129. It comes with a 4GB SD card, two cameras on the back, and one mono speaker (stereo via headphones). Of course it plays all 3DS and DS games. Nintendo says this new device is geared towards younger players since the standard 3DS is geared towards players seven and older.  Okay. Is this something that people actually wanted? Is it something you would buy? Let us know in the comments … [Read more...]
