Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down RAW 3/3/14: No CM Punk in Chicago

RAW Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down

Last night's RAW featured a lot of online buzz going into it thanks to rumors (coming from Dave Meltzer) that CM Punk would be returning to WWE after walking out of the company. Taking place in Punk's hometown of Chicago, the crowd was insanely hot all night and chanting loudly throughout the night for CM Punk. Amidst all the speculation that the fans would hijack the show if Punk weren't there, WWE did damage control by teasing Punk at the beginning and then letting the fans know he wouldn't be there. They kept the fans interested in the show and tried to take ownership in a "hijacking," and in the process delivered one of the best RAW's in a long time. Now on to what worked and what didn't in this edition of RAW: Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down. - Paul Heyman / Brock Lesnar Opening … [Read more...]

Ongoing LIVE Wrestlemania 29 Results

Hello, I am Julius, and I will be providing quick results all night. I would do a more detailed review, but this show was expensive enough so I don't feel like watching it with my face buried in the computer taking notes. … [Read more...]

WWE RAW 1/7/13 Preview: Punk vs Ryback in a TLC Match; The Rock Returns!

It's the first RAW of the new year, and that officially means we're on the Road to WrestleMania. WWE has stacked tonight's broadcast with a blockbuster main event and the return of the Great One. Tonight, CM Punk will defend his WWE Championship against Ryback in a TLC Match. Unfortunately for Ryback, it's virtually impossible to see him winning this match or for it to end cleanly. It will be Punk vs. Rock at Royal Rumble, and that sort of takes some of the excitement out of this match. It's likely The Shield gets involved, but it's also possible The Rock himself gets involved. Besides that big TLC WWE Championship match and The Rock's return (which he says will be the start of the story building to his WrestleMania match), AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler want revenge on John Cena for he did to … [Read more...]

CM Punk Medically Cleared to Defend WWE Championship on January 7th RAW

Thank goodness! WWE.com is reporting some "breaking news" today stating that their sources indicate that WWE Champion CM Punk is medically cleared to compete on this coming Monday's RAW in a TLC match against Ryback for the WWE Championship.  WWE.com sources indicate that The Straight Edge Superstar has been medically cleared for in-ring competition several weeks after his undergoing knee surgery. The decision, if confirmed, returns Punk to action effective immediately, meaning he will defend his championship as scheduled in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match against Ryback. I say "thank goodness!" because who really wants to see Ryback vs. Paul Heyman? However, this is WWE we're talking about here and you know how they are. There's still a 50% chance we'll end up with the … [Read more...]

WWE RAW 11/19/12 Preview: Punk Celebrates 1 Year, NXT Invades

Last night WWE presented a pretty good Survivor Series pay-per-view event that ended with a bit of chaos. CM Punk was able to pin John Cena, who had been Shellshocked by Ryback. Ryback was in turn taken out by three wrestlers from NXT; WWE's development promotion. My favorite wrestler not previously on the main roster was amongst the three: Dean Ambrose. The other two men were Seth Rollins (the former Tyler Black from ROH) and Roman Reigns (son of Siki, brother of former WWE star Rosey). The NXT renegades laid a Nexus style beatdown on Ryback and put him through an announce table. It was a fitting way to make a debut; a gang assault on a guy who was a founding member of Nexus that was just about to win the WWE Championship. The big question for the tonight, and likely in the foreseeable … [Read more...]
