New Super Luigi U may be DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U, and a complete repacking of it at that, but now you'll know no longer need to own New Super Mario Bros. U to enjoy playing New Super Luigi U. Super. Today, Nintendo announced that the Luigi title will be getting a boxed retail release on August 28th in North America and July 26th in Europe (hey Nintendo, stop it with these month long separations between releases). The digital version of the game is coming June 20th, and since it is DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U you will need to own and use the disc for that game to play it. If you don't own the Mario game and still want to play as Luigi, you can pick this physical copy which isn't overpriced for $29.99 (the digital DLC version is $19.99).
