Daily Venom #5: Sorry Bungie, $20 Is Still Too Much

June 25, 2015 // 0 Comments

A few days ago I wrote about the interview Luke Smith did with Eurogamer, where he insinuated that current Destiny players would gladly pay for content they already had just to get a few new exclusive items (three emotes, three shaders, and three class items) in the form of the $80 Taken King Collector’s Edition. Yesterday, Bungie tried to fix things and announced that current players would be able to pay the digital content of the Collector’s Edition, without having to buy everything they already own, for $20. For some strange reason, a lot of folks were seemingly happy with [...]

Bungie Weekly Update – 6/24/15: Part 1 – What They’re Doing With The Collector’s Edition

June 24, 2015 // 0 Comments

The following is courtesy of and is the first of two Weekly Update’s this week. The second one will come tomorrow. This week at Bungie, we’re working hard to fix what’s wrong with the Collector’s Editions for The Taken King. You’ve voiced your objections. We agree wholeheartedly. Now, our attention is focused on creating solutions. These things take time, so pardon our silence these past few days. In moments like these, actions speak louder than words. In developing The Taken King, one of our goals has been to celebrate you and your triumphs. E3 was a place to reveal [...]

Daily Venom #2: Luke Smith and Bungie Must Think We’re All Idiots

June 22, 2015 // 0 Comments

Destiny’s third expansion, and it’s first real big one, The Taken King, releases September 15th. There are a few ways to acquire The Taken King DLC. The first, for those of us who own Destiny, The Dark Below, and House of Wolves is to purchase the Digital Edition for $40. The Taken King is also being sold in retail stores for $60, and will include the base game and the first two expansions… quite a deal for new players. Then there’s the Collector’s Edition, available in both physical and digital form. Despite the physical version having more stuff, like a cool [...]

Check Out The Destiny DLC House of Wolves Launch Trailer

May 14, 2015 // 0 Comments

While we wait for patch 1.2.0, Bungie has released the launch trailer for the House of Wolves, which launches on Tuesday, May 19th. Check out the awesome trailer below. I for one am super excited for House of Wolves. It’s just going to be so great having new content to play through and gear to earn. Prison of Elders will likely become my big game mode. My days of running the strike playlist are probably coming to an end, as the level 28 version of Prison of Elders can be replayed as much as you want for loot/rep will likely be where I spend most of my time. Horde mode is my favorite [...]

Game Modes and Events We Want to See Come to Destiny

October 16, 2014 // 0 Comments

I’ve been enjoying Destiny every day since its release, and I can’t wait for the DLC to come out in December so that I can do something different. After all, after six weeks of playing the same story missions and the same strikes, new versions definitely can’t get here fast enough. And that’s really the biggest problem with Destiny, the lack of content. Everything is repetitive, and you’re expected to grind the same content repeatedly mostly with little or no reward for doing so. Destiny doesn’t just need new story missions, strikes, and raids, because [...]

There’s no set date for any of this content, but fans can expect it to begin coming out in late 2014 and early 2015, as per usual with WWE games. Accelerator Players will gain instant access to all unlockable content available in the game (excluding downloadable content); The Accelerator will be available for a suggested price of $1.99. 2K Showcase: One More Match Story focused on the rivalry between WWE Superstars [...]

Ubisoft quietly announced a season pass for Watch_Dogs today on their YouTube channel. The season pass, which will cost $19.99, includes a new single player campaign where you’ll play as a new playable character named T-Bone, new missions, weapons, and gear/skins for Aiden, and a new “mind bending” game mode called Digital Trip. Purchasing the season pass will net you a 25% discount over purchasing all of the DLC covered by the season pass separately. In addition, Season Pass holders will get all additional content a week early. You can view the trailer for the Season Pass [...]

Grounded Bundle DLC Will Make The Last of Us A Whole Lot Harder

April 25, 2014 // 1 Comment

The Last of Us is an amazing game that won my Game of the Year award for 2013 along countless other sites. I beat it several times (including Survival and Survival+) en-route to 100% finishing the single player. I also got 100% on the much shorter Left Behind DLC story. Many found The Last of Us to be a challenge on normal. Hard lived up to its name. Survival mode though took away any sort of possible advantage or hand holding (Listen Mode) by making already scarce supplies even more scarce. Now the final DLC for the game is almost here, and while it’s primarily geared towards the [...]

Predator Comes to Call of Duty: Ghosts via Devastation DLC

March 31, 2014 // 0 Comments

Call of Duty: Ghosts is getting some DLC this Thursday on Xbox One and Xbox 360 (other platforms will get it later) in the form of Devastation. The Devastation DLC is bringing four new maps ranging from small to medium in size: Ruins, Behemoth, Collision, and Unearthed (Modern Warfare 3’s “Dome” re-imagined). Devastation isn’t just a map pack though, it’s also bringing the Ripper weapon into combat. Ripper is a two-in-one weapon that allows you to switch between SMG and AR on the fly while in combat. In addition to the four new maps and Ripper weapon, Devastation [...]

BioShock Infinite’s ‘Burial At Sea: Episode 1’ Is Coming In November

October 25, 2013 // 3 Comments

Irrational’s highly anticipated episodic-DLC expansion for BioShock Infinite, Burial At Sea, today got a release date, and it’s not far off. Players looking forward to Booker’s and Elizabeth’s Rapture adventure will get to go back to the city under the sea on November 12th. If you didn’t purchase the $20 season pass and want to play Burial At Sea: Episode One when it releases, you’re going to have to part with $14.99. Of course you can still purchase the season pass, so I would highly recommend that over buying this episode separately; the season pass nets [...]
