Dragon Age: Inquisition Confirmed to be 1080p on PS4, 900p on Xbox One

October 10, 2014 // 0 Comments

With Ubisoft saying all the wrong things lately to try and explain away a statement that Unity was locked down at the same specs on PS4 and Xbox One to “avoid debates and stuff,” EA today kind of fired a shot with a tweet: Confirmed: #DAI resolution is 1080p on PS4, and 900p on Xbox One. We maximized the current potential of each platform. — Dragon Age (@dragonage) October 10, 2014 If the Tweet doesn’t load like it should, the message is: Confirmed: #DAI resolution is 1080p on PS4, and 900p on Xbox One. We maximized the current potential of each platform. Nice to see [...]

Dragon Age Inquistion Gets Pushed Back to November 18th

July 22, 2014 // 2 Comments

A publisher has finally cracked and moved a game away from the stacked October 7th date, and surprisingly it was EA. The publisher announced today that BioWare’s latest in the Dragon Age series, Inquistion, has been delayed a few weeks to November 18th. Had Dragon Age Inquisition stuck with its October 7th release date, it would have been competing directly with NBA 2K15, Alien: Isolation, Driveclub, and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor that all release on that same day. BioWare’s Mark Darrah explained that the slight delay would allow for a better game. Smith’s Sentiment: EA [...]

Battlefield Hardline Delayed Into 2015

July 22, 2014 // 0 Comments

Well, Battlefield isn’t going annual. At least not this year. EA has announced that the Visceral developed Battlefield: Hardline has been delayed into 2015. The game was originally scheduled to ship in October. EA claims the delay is due to feedback gathered by beta users: This feedback also spurred us to start thinking about other possibilities and ways we could push Hardline innovation further and make the game even better. The more we thought about these ideas, the more we knew we had to get them into the game you will all be playing. However, there was only one problem. We would [...]

DEMOED! EA Sports UFC First Impressions

June 4, 2014 // 3 Comments

The demo for EA Sports UFC dropped yesterday on PS4 and Xbox One, and after spending an hour or so with it I’m beginning to like it… slowly. Much like EA Sports MMA, I find the controls to be needlessly complicated and not really thoroughly explained in the tutorial. If you came out of the tutorial understanding the submission system, then please explain it to me because I still don’t get it after quite a few fights. I understand the basic premise of it, but I just don’t get it. In time, I’m sure I will, but frankly I think the tutorial could be better. After [...]

Review: Titanfall

March 12, 2014 // 0 Comments

review done on XBOX One version The time has finally arrived, the first big Next Gen exclusive has launched.  While Titanfall certainly had a whirlwind of hype pushing it forward the real question would be whether or not it was worth your time.  Some seemed unsure of the lack of a single player campaign in which the game launched with.  It should come as no surprise though that the guys who really helped breath life into the First Person Shooter for the mainstream would put the focus primarily into an online multiplayer.  Whether or not that gamble pays off I suppose will boil down to [...]

Late last night in response to down time in the Titanfall closed Beta due to several codes not being sent out, developer Jon Shiring announced that the Beta was opening to the public.  Shiring announced “Let’s Break It” with regards to testing the game for it’s retail release next month.  As of today PC and XBOX One users should be able to jump into the open Beta which will now run until February 18th. The decision to turn the closed Beta into an open one came directly from Respawn’s Vince Zambella who has stated that he believes that the servers will hold up [...]

Review: Plants vs. Zombies 2 – It’s About Time!

October 30, 2013 // 0 Comments

The original Plants vs. Zombies was a surprise hit when it first hit PC and Mac way back in 2009. If you were to just glance at the game, you would have seen something that looked very simple and probably wouldn’t be that much fun. Turns out, it was super fun and became super popular for developer/publisher PopCap Games. It was so successful and popular that it ended up getting ported to seemingly every platform available. It hit iOS and then Xbox 360 in 2010. In 2011, the game was ported over to PS3, Nintendo DS, Android, and Windows Phone. In 2012, it hit PS Vita. Even this year, back [...]

EA Made First Titanfall Exclusive To PC and Xbox For Life

October 29, 2013 // 2 Comments

When Titanfall, the multiplayer only first person shooter with mechs from Respawn Entertainment, was first announced during the Microsoft press conference at E3 as an Xbox (360 and One) console exclusive, many folks simply assumed that it would be a timed exclusive. It turns out that that isn’t the case, and to make matters worse it appears that Respawn Entertainment didn’t have anything to do with it and didn’t even know about it until recently. During an earnings call with investors today, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen stated that Titan fall is “exclusive only for the [...]
