Console Version of The Elder Scrolls Online Delayed Six Months

Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online released last month for PC, and it was scheduled to release in June for both PS4 and Xbox One. That isn't going to happen now due problems Bethesda is facing with getting their systems integrated with the PlayStation and Xbox networks. They reckon they'll need around six months to get it ready, so don't expect to play Elder Scrolls Online on your console anytime soon unfortunately. Here's a statement released by Bethesda this morning: We’ve been grateful to our fans for the wonderful response to our recent launch of The Elder Scrolls Online for PC/Mac, but we know many of you are eagerly waiting to play the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We continue to work on the console versions of ESO, and game development has been progressing steadily, but we are … [Read more...]

Build A Home in Skyrim With New Hearthfire DLC

Bethesda has announced the next DLC for Skyrim, Hearthfire. The DLC drops first for Xbox 360 on September 4th and will cost 400 MS Points. Hearthfire adds the ability for you to purchase and design and build your home. You'll be able to spruce up your new home with a kitchen, trophy room, greenhouse, alchemy lab, and a library. Move your spouse into your new home and you can adopt and raise children. Check out the trailer below and get ready to build a home in Skyrim on September 4th. Maybe PS3 folks will actually get this piece of DLC at some point instead of having to wait and wait like now with … [Read more...]

Meet the Three Playable Factions In The Elder Scrolls Online

ZeniMax Online's upcoming MMO The Elder Scrolls Online will feature three playable factions and a fourth non-playable one. The three playable factions are made up of three races: The Ebonheart Pact consists of Nords, Dunmer, and Argonians from the Northern and Eastern regions. The Aldmeri Dominion consists of Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajiit from the South and South West regions.  The Daggerfall Covenant consists of Bretons, Redguards, and Orcs from the North West regions. Assuming I were to play this, and that would depend on subscription price/model, it looks like I'd be a part of the Ebonheart Pact since I prefer to play as a Nord. I like to be human in these games. The fourth faction is non-playable as it serves as the antagonist; Imperials. It's always the Imperials; I've … [Read more...]

First Screenshot of The Elder Scrolls Online is a Little Disappointing

Game Informer has the first screenshot up of The Elder Scrolls Online, the upcoming MMO being developed by ZeniMax Online that will take players across the whole of Tamriel, as well as a few details regarding what's going on in the picture (which you can read here). You can view the screenshot below. It's quite disappointing to me to be honest, although I guess it really shouldn't be. It looks more cartoonish than the single player Elder Scrolls games, and is a bit of a shock coming from the absolutely gorgeous Skyrim to this. Then again, and to be fair, this is an open-world game that covers all of Tamriel (which is a massive place), so I guess it wasn't realistic to expect an online MMO to look anywhere close to as good as Skyrim does.   … [Read more...]

Watch The Announcement Trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online

Bethesda has dropped the debut/announcement teaser trailer for the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online MMO game that was announced yesterday. As you would expect, there's not not much in it; it is after all an announcement teaser. I would expect this to be a big thing at E3 though, so we shouldn't have to wait terribly long before we start seeing some gameplay from this. I'm on the fence, personally. The Elder Scrolls is a fantastic series, and the most recent one, Skyrim, was amazing. So for that reason, I'm definitely interested in this. On the other hand, I'm not a fan of MMO's simply because I will never buy a game for $60 and then have to pay for a subscription just to be able to play it. We'll see what happens with this one though. … [Read more...]
