Review: WrestleMania

WrestleMania took place on March 31, 1985 from Madison Square Garden and was WWE's first pay-per-view event. At the time, it was the biggest event in company history and quite the gamble for WWE and the McMahon family. This was before home PPV from cable providers, so WWE had to rely on fans buying tickets and going to theaters to watch the show. It was a gamble that paid off and was a huge success and that's why it's still going 30 years later as the biggest wrestling event in the world. The commentary team for the inaugural WrestleMania was the legendary duo of Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse 'the Body' Venture.
