TNA Impact Wrestling Finds A New TV Home on Destination America Beginning in January

impact-destinationamerica

While tonight's episode of Impact Wrestling will be the last on Spike TV, the company won't be off television for long. Today, TNA and Discovery Communications announced that beginning in January (no date set), Impact Wrestling will begin airing on Destination America. Along with this deal comes news that additional TNA programming will becoming to the channel as well, at dates to be announced later. So already, Destination America is going to be doing for TNA what Spike TV never did... grant them additional television programs. Destination America is in roughly 60 million homes in the US, or about 53% of homes with televisions. Spike TV on the other hand reaches about 98 million homes. Something tells me Impact Wrestling's ratings will probably be about the same though. At any rate, … [Read more...]

Impact Wrestling 11/19/14 Preview: The Final Episode of Impact on Spike TV

TNA Impact Wrestling

Tonight marks the end of an era. Since 1999, Spike TV (formerly known as TNN) has featured a wrestling program. First it was ECW, and then that got removed because the network picked up WWE RAW. When WWE took RAW back to USA Network in late 2005, Spike TV quickly signed a deal with TNA to bring Impact Wrestling on board. In the time sense, Impact has changed days, timeslots, grown from one hour to two hours, tried to compete with RAW on Monday Night's, and brought in a ton of big names. Through it all, Impact's ratings have never really grown and now Spike TV is getting out of the wrestling programming. Tonight marks the final episode of Impact Wrestling on Spike TV. Here's the preview, courtesy of ImpactWrestling.com, of what's going down on tonight's episode, taped well over a month … [Read more...]

Vortex Effect Is Pleased To Announce That Network Site PW Main Event Is Officially Launched

PW Main Event

Today, Vortex Effect expands a little with the creation of The Vortex Effect Network, and the official launch of PW Main Event. This site was created in 2011 to cover many different topics. Primarily a wrestling and gaming site, Vortex Effect also had movie news and reviews, MMA, sports, some occasional music, and even political posts (Ron Paul!). Over time, we completely dropped the politics and music and ultimately shifted more towards being a gaming first site. As of today, we're also dropping wrestling from the things we cover here on Vortex Effect. Unlike politics and music though, we're doing so because we want to do MORE wrestling stuff. I know the audience we get. I see where you're coming from and what you're searching for to get here. I know what articles you're reading, and … [Read more...]

No More Wrestling Content on Vortex Effect

WWE Logo

We started this site in April 2011 and the very first post was a wrestling post. The site was intended to be largely a wrestling site with a focus also on gaming and movie reviews; very much a hybrid mashing of our different interests. Overtime, the site has shifted more and more towards video games and the wrestling took a back seat, mostly. The initial audience we had for wrestling stuff left, seemingly not caring about all the gaming stuff that was dominating (can't say I blame them). Likewise, not too many of our current readership cares about the wrestling content. So, while Vortex Effect remains a hybrid site of gaming and movies, and even sports occasionally, there will be no more wrestling content here (unless its about a video game). Why are sports allowed and wrestling has to … [Read more...]
