Days Before Release, Destiny Gets Great Live Action Trailer

I'm not usually into live action trailers for video games, as they are usually extra cheesy, but I have to admit that I really like the one Activision released today for Destiny. Check it out below. A Fireteam heads out on an epic, action-packed road trip across our Solar System to face our enemies, take back what is ours and, in the end, Become Legend. Featuring “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin. Sure, there's some cheese to be found in the trailer (when is there not?), but for the most part this is well done. Does it make me more pumped Destiny? No, but then I don't think it would be possible for me to be more excited about this game than I am now. The long and agonizing wait for Destiny is just about over. In just a few days, on September 9th, we'll get to finally become legend when … [Read more...]

Get Ready To Become Legend, The Destiny Launch Trailer Has Arrived

Bungie and Activision released the official launch gameplay trailer for Destiny today, which you can view above (and you should, it's a good trailer). Unfortunately, we aren't celebrating a launch with this launch trailer. That's not for another just about three weeks, on September 9th. Oh how I wish it were in my hands right now. There are enemies out here you would not believe, but they’ve never seen anything like you. It doesn’t matter who you are, only what you will become. There's still time to pre-order if you haven't done so yet. We're getting closer though! … [Read more...]

Review: Madden NFL 15

Madden NFL 15 (PS4 [Reviewed], Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360) Developer: EA Tiburon Publisher: EA Sports Genre(s): Football, Sports Released: August 26, 2014 ESRB Rating: E - Everyone I played and reviewed last year's Madden NFL 25 on PS3 when it released. That game later came to PS4 and Xbox One, but as I didn't get a PS4 until May, I didn't experience last year's Madden game on the current gen systems. So the first thing I noticed when getting into a game on Madden NFL 15 was just how much better it looks versus last year's game on PS3. It simply looks amazing, and the team at Tiburon has gone a great job of adding in a ton of detail. They've scanned the majority of team rosters, so at the very least star players are going to look like their real life counterparts (to a degree of course). … [Read more...]

Get A Glimpse of Mars and Venus In These New Destiny Trailers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kkv74QxryUI Bungie released a new gameplay trailer for Destiny a couple of days ago that showed off some of what Mars has to offer (view the trailer above). What little we know of Mars may as well be a myth. We built a massive metropolis in the red dust. No one knows what remains of our lost age, now buried beneath the dunes. Today, they've released another new trailer, this one showing off gameplay from Venus (watch it below). Venus was once the site of a great discovery – a paradise. Now, it is a monument to all that we have lost. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIr4DRtnG_E Destiny hits stores on September 9th for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360. Smith's Sentiment: Man these trailers are great; the planets are beautiful. I wish it were September … [Read more...]

Get Competitive in Destiny With This Trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20opyh1pLYg Guardians, prepare to enter the Crucible and test your skills against other Guardians in the Destiny competitive modes. Watch the trailer above to get a small taste of the various competitive multiplayer modes that will be available when Destiny releases on September 9th for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360. Smith's Sentiment: The trailer was released last week, but I'm just now able to get around to posting it. If you've been following this site then you know that Destiny is a game I am super excited for and has been hands down my most anticipated game since E3 2013. I don't usually like competitive FPS, but I loved playing Control in both the Destiny Alpha and Beta. There's something about it that appeals to me where most online shooters … [Read more...]

Assassin’s Creed Rogue Announced for PS3, X360; Releases November 11th

Assassin's Creed Rogue

We all know about Assassin's Creed: Unity releasing October 28th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but that's not the only Assassin's Creed game releasing this Fall. There had long been rumors of a PS3/Xbox 360 Assassin's Creed title codenamed "Comet," and a lot of folks, myself included, were surprised when nothing was said about the project at E3. Well following a leak, Ubisoft officially announced Assassin's Creed Rogue for PS3 and Xbox 360 with a cinematic trailer, which you can see below. The game will release on November 11th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoOsv0FBpaU Become the ultimate Assassin Hunter in Assassin’s Creed Rogue. As Shay you’ll hunt those you previously called brothers from the streets of New York City to the frozen and fractured glacial landscapes of the Arctic … [Read more...]

WWE 2K15 Story and Career Modes Revealed

WWE 2K15

WWE 2K15 is the "IGN First" game for August, so IGN is getting to reveal information about the game all month long. Today, two modes were revealed (but very little talked about): Story and Career. Story mode is called 2K Showcase and is described as "broken up into two episodes, each one focusing in tightly on an epic rivalry from the WWE’s past. Think of them as mini-documentaries of a sort." So unlike previous years where we relived the Attitude Era or looked back on 30 Years of WrestleMania, this year we'll be tackling two of the WWE's greatest rivalries. My guess would be that we'll see John Cena vs. Randy Orton and Stone Cold vs. either Rock or Bret Hart. Those are just guesses, and both could be way off. New to the series is the MyCareer mode. You may know this mode from the NBA 2K … [Read more...]

First WWE 2K15 Screenshot Revealed by John Cena, Is Impressive

WWE 2K15

Current WWE Champion John Cena took to Twitter this morning to share a screenshot of his virtual self squaring of against rival Randy Orton in 2K's upcoming WWE 2K15. You can see by the screen below that the game looks way more impressive and realistic thanks to Visual Concepts helping with development. WWE 2K15 releases on October 28th for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360. Smith's Sentiment: Kinda ironic that a bunch of WWE 2K15 stuff finally comes out on the day where we're launching a new wrestling only site, but glad to finally starting seeing and hearing some details about 2K15. The screenshot looks really good, definitely much better than anything we've seen from Yuke's before. The roster will be revealed during Summer Slam weekend, and I hope it includes more wrestlers than we … [Read more...]

Destiny Is Something Special: Thoughts and Impressions From the Destiny Beta

I said I would refrain from posting my Destiny Beta impressions until the beta went offline, and sadly that time has come. So it's time to begrudgingly write that piece and reflect upon many hours spent as an Awoken male Hunter. Despite saying I would spend more time with all three classes in the beta, I didn't actually do that. I leveled up a Warlock to a measly level three and didn't even bother with a Titan. I played the entire beta really with the same Hunter and had him fully maxed out (including all the extras you could upgrade after hitting the level eight cap) within the first day and a half. I didn't need to play the other classes. I was already strongly leaning towards Hunter after the Alpha, and by the time I had hit the level cap in the beta my mind was already completely … [Read more...]
