Your Xbox Gamerscore Will Carry Over To Xbox One

XboxOne

Finally, some good Xbox One news to talk about! Those of you who have spent years gaming to increase your gamerscore and grab some achievements can rest easy: all of your work will carry over to Xbox One. You won't have to worry about someone stealing your gamer tag either, your account goes with you (which I think most people probably expected at this point). Fire up Xbox One, log in with your current account, and there is your achievements and your avatar waiting for you in the next generation. Sadly, and this is expected and it's the same with PlayStation 4, your digital game titles aren't going with you. Xbox One is not backwards compatiable, so you better hang on to your Xbox 360 if you want to continue playing your 360 games and your Xbox LIVE Arcade titles. If … [Read more...]

Ubisoft Confirms Watch_Dogs & Assassin’s Creed IV for Xbox One

Ubisoft

From the "you don't say" department: Ubisoft has officially confirmed that both Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag are coming to Xbox One. We needed this confirmation because "available on PlayStation 4 and other next-gen platforms" simply wasn't clear. Of course Ubisoft will get no lover from a Xbox press event, because they give exclusive content (mainly missions, and including both Assassin's Creed IV and Watch_Dogs) to PlayStation. Here's the tweet to officially confirm what we all already knew, because you know "official." https://twitter.com/Ubisoft/status/336903299917819905 Both games will be out this Fall for almost every platform available (PlayStation 3 & 4, PC, Wii U, Xbox 360 & One), because unlike some publishers (EA, Activision), Ubisoft … [Read more...]

Game Review: Metro Last Light (PC)

Metro-Last-Light-feat

Metro Last Light (PC [Reviewed], PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) Developer: 4A Games Publisher: Deep Silver Genre(s): First person shooter Released: May 14, 2013 ESRB Rating: M – Mature * A copy of this game was provided by the publisher for review. In a post apocalyptic not too distant future a year after the events of the first game, protagonist Artyom returns to face the consequences and fallout of the events of that game and it's a more refined but equally as intense, dark, and immersive experience as Metro 2033 ever was. For some reason there were concerns that this game was going to be “dumbed down for the Call of Duty crowd” and I am happy to report that is not the case. If you loved the first game you will absolutely love this and you will also have one of the best … [Read more...]

Massive Layoffs Hit Trion Worlds

Defiance

These kind of updates are always the worst: Reports have been coming in that Trion Worlds, developers of the MMO's Rift and most recently the console/PC MMO Defiance, have been hit with massive layoffs. IGN first reported that half the company had been laid off, although they updated their story with word that Trion told them those numbers were exaggerated. It seems the hardest hit part of the company is the San Diego studio, which is the studio that worked on and still is working on Defiance. Trion supplied a comment to IGN and GameInformer: "To best position Trion in a rapidly changing industry, we have reorganized our teams and are expanding our free to play offering.  With Defiance, we delivered a great game that more than one million gamers registered to play and continue … [Read more...]

DEMOED! Fuse Impressions

Fuse-

Fuse (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) Developer: Insomniac Games Publisher: EA Genre(s): Action, Third Person Shooter Releases: May 28, 2013 Price: $59.99 ESRB Rating: M – Mature   I was pretty excited when Insomniac revealed Overstrike at E3 back in 2011. It was actually my favorite trailer from any presentation that year. I liked the look of it and the apparent humor, and although I am a PlayStation 3 gamer was happy to see that Insomniac was going multiplatform so that more people could enjoy their outstanding work. And then the game fell off everyone's radar, only to come back later with a new title and no cartoonish art. I didn't think that would bode well for the new IP, and especially one I was looking forward to in large part because of the art, but now that I've … [Read more...]
