The PlayStation Exclusive Content for Destiny

Destiny

Not content with an exclusive alpha and a beta beginning four days earlier than the Xbox one, PlayStation platforms are also getting some exclusive content when Destiny launches on September 9th.

Buying Destiny for either PS4 or PS3 will get you an exclusive strike mission on Mars called “The Dust Palace.” This mission includes new enemy types and takes place throughout an abandoned skyscraper.

In addition to the strike mission, PlayStation owners will also get the competitive multiplayer map “Exodus Blue,” which is a medium sized map that takes place on an old ship and will be playable for control and skirmish modes.

There’s also exclusive armor, weapons, and ships for each of the game’s three classes.

The PS4 alpha wrapped up this evening. The beta will hit PS4 and PS3 on July 17th, and will arrive on Xbox platforms on July 21st. The game launches on September 9th. You can reserve your spot in the beta today by pre-ordering.

Smith’s Sentiment: I absolutely LOVED my time spent in the alpha and I’m sad that it ended. Already looking forward to the beta, and of course the full release in September (my goodness, that seems like such a long time from now for only being three months). Will have a lot to say about the alpha soon. I imagine these items are simply timed exclusive, so Xbox owners will likely get all of this content in either late 2014 or early 2015. Much like retailer specific bonuses, I hate any form of exclusive content (even timed) based on platform.
