Actor and comedian Robin Williams was found dead in his home yesterday of an apparent suicide by asphyxiation. Latest reports indicate that he hung himself with a belt. He was 63 years old.
One behalf of everyone here at Cinema Vortex and the entire TVE Network, condolences to his family and friends.
Smith’s Sentiment: We’re a day late on this I know, but I didn’t have Internet access yesterday. Williams had apparently be depressed throughout most of his career, but that certainly didn’t stop him from making millions of us laugh. While I won’t say he was my favorite actor (he wasn’t, by far), I did enjoy most of his movies. Even the likes of Popeye and RV. He also starred in what is one of my all time favorite movies… Death to Smoochy. Williams was not just a funny man though, he was also an extremely gifted actor who could nail the serious dramatic roles. He will be missed. I’ll be posting my top five films starring Robin Williams later this week. Suffice to say, I think you all know what will be my number one on that list. RIP Robin Williams.
