Destiny Daily 11/13/14: Maintenance is Over, Daily Bounties

Destiny Daily

Second day in a row that Destiny Daily has been delayed, but at least today it wasn’t my fault. The game was offline for several hours this morning as Bungie worked on the game on their end to prepare for a number of updates to come in the next few weeks, including the Dark  Below DLC. Maintenance ended about 15 minutes ago.

Xur comes to town tomorrow. Let me know what you’re hoping for in the comments. Personally, I’m hoping for The Last Word, but I’d more than happy with the Multi-Tool as well. I’ve been playing every since launch; I really want The Last Word. I don’t care how many other folks have it, I just want it. Bring Xur, please!

Enough of that, here’s the bounties for 11/13:

Vanguard Bounties

Target: Aksor  Defeat Aksor, Archon Priest in the “Winter’s Run” Strike on Venus.  +50 / +2,500
Cleansing Light  Kill 3 or more enemies with a single super use, 20 times.  +50 / +2,500
Unstoppable  Earn 9000 Experience without dying. (Does not include Bounty XP reward.) +50 / +2,500
Overcharge  Kill 2 enemies at once with a Fusion Rifle, 20 times. +100 / +5,000
Target: Divisive Mind  Defeat the Divisive Mind in “The Black Garden” mission on Mars with the Heroic modifier active. +100 / +5,000
Patrol Mars  Complete 6 Patrol missions on Mars. +50 / +2,500

These are all easy, even though I hate Cleansing Light. Overcharge is best done on The Dark Beyond mission on the moon at the “We’ve woken the hive part.” If you don’t get it from the Thrall’s at first, let the Knight kill you and mop it up. If you haven’t done the Weekly Heroic or Nightfall yet, snatch the Aksor bounty and complete it while doing either the Heroic or Nightfall.

Crucible Bounties

Shake the Pillars  Defeat 25 Titans in the Crucible. +75 / +3,750
Relic Hunter  Participate in 10 Salvage Zone captures. +50 / +2,500
Forged in Fire  Win 3 Crucible Matches. +100 / +5,000
Longshot  Defeat 15 Guardians with headshots using a Sniper Rifle. +100 / +5,000
 Headhunter  Defeat 50 Guardians with headshots. +100 / +5,000
Stopping Power  Earn 10 Buckshot Bruiser medals. +100 / +5,000

The Crucible playlist for today is Control.

Daily Heroic Mission: Scourge of Winter

Location: Ishtar Sink, Venus

  • Hunt and kill Draksis, the House of Winter’s Kell, hiding deep in the caves of the Ishtar Sink.

  • HEROIC – Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive.
  • LIGHTSWITCH – Minions of the Darkness deal much more melee damage.

  • Cryptarch Engram
  • Vanguard Marks +5
  • +4800 XP (lvl 20) l +6000 XP (lvl 24) l +7500 XP (lvl 28)
  • Ascendant Material (lvl 24) l 2 Ascendant Materials (lvl 28)

This one is quite easy (and I know, I say that every day). Keep the enemies in front of you, which on this mission isn’t hard to do at all, and you should have zero trouble.  Take an Ice Breaker and when you first enter where the Kell is, stand on the rocks and snipe the enemies. They can’t shoot back at you because of the distance; you can clear the whole area in a couple of minutes, and be on your merry way.

For Draksis, I recommend standing in the door way and shooting his guards and other enemies while he is sitting on his throne. Don’t shoot him until you kill the others. Once you shoot him, and you should be using a sniper at this point, he’ll stand up and you’ll be able to get a few more shots off before he hides behind a pillar. Don’t move backwards of the door way, and don’t move forwards out of the doorway and then try to go back through it. You’ll end up being locked out of the room, or die by being crushed by the door, which will respawn you outside of the room and you’ll still be locked out, which will force you to run back outside the ship and jump over the edge. Just kill the enemies, enter the room, and let the door close behind you to trap you inside with the Draksis and the trash that spawns.

I say don’t worry about the other enemies (but keep moving/jumping, and I don’t let them melee you) and focus on Draksis. Machine gun or rocket launcher, hand cannon, and a sniper rifle if you’re quick enough and you should take him down quickly without issue.

That’s all for today. Remember, Xur comes to the Tower tomorrow, so make sure you’ve got the Strange Coins ready to go. If you haven’t yet done so, run the Weekly Heroic Strike and get some coins. See you all tomorrow.
