Destiny Daily 11/18/14: The Devil’s Lair Nightfall, Iron Banner Event Begins, Daily Bounties

Destiny Daily

Yesterday brought a big patch to Destiny, and if you missed the patch notes then you can check them out here. Today is the weekly world reset, and that means we’ve got a “new” Nightfall and Weekly Heroic to play through for some hopefully sweet loot. It’s the Devil’s Lair this time. Also, today sees the beginning of a new event in Destiny, the Iron Banner crucible event is back again, and this time much improved (supposedly, I’ll try it after this post) over its original incarnation. You can get Iron Banner bounties from Lord Saladin, but I’m not including them here.

Let’s dive right in; here are the bounties for 11/18:

This is the final story mission. Bring an Ice Breaker, a good rocket launcher, a hand cannon, and some heavy weapon synthesis. When you get to the end, your focus should be on the big statue guys. Don’t waste ammo trying to kill the trash that spawns unless it’s absolutely necessary.

This is a pretty easy strike usually, however this week you’re going to want to hang back as much as possible. When you first enter the area where you’re going to have to deploy your ghost, just wait a little bit and let the Fallen and the Hive fight each other. Then come in and mop up the rest. Once you deploy the ghost, head to the green cave to the left. Go down the bank just a little bit, and then turn back to where the enemies will be coming to. They can still shoot at you (the bank provides cover when you need it), but they won’t come to you. Pick off the enemies you can, quickly run out and take some shots at a Captain and draw their attention, and retreat. There will come a wave with a lot of stealth vandals. They’ll kill you in one hit. In this spot, they’ll never come to you and will instead stand around for you to easily kill. Once the Hive enters and begins fighting the Fallen, just sit back and watch. Let them fight and then mop up. Stay in this area until your Ghost says the door is open.

At the Devil Walker (I hope you have an Ice Breaker), head to the building on the far left as soon as you enter the battle ground. Jump up on top of it. Stay in the middle of the building and you shoot the Devil Walker and he’ll never shoot at you. Once he’s down, move up to the front of the building and snipe any enemy you see. Then quickly run up the left side path and out the doors to Sepiks Prime.

When the Sepiks Prime battle begins, head inside the building to the left. Stay inside it. You are relatively safe inside, however you can still be shot through the windows, so do what you’ve gotta do to take cover. Occasionally, you’ll have to run out (go inside the container, and have an Ice Breaker because there’s probably going to be a Fallen Shank there) to get a few shots off at Sepiks and try to get him to move to a location you can see him from the building.

It’s not difficult, it’s just going to be more time consuming than anything because every enemy but Sepiks Prime is going to be doing Arc damage.

Here’s a video from YouTube showing how to cheese it.

That’s all for today Guardians. Get out there and complete those bounties, and the Nightfall mission (do it first and get that 25% XP/REP boost). Let us know in the comments below what loot you get from the Nightfall.
