Destiny Daily 11/25/14: Descend Into The Summoning Pits for the Nightfall, Daily Bounties

Destiny Daily

It’s Tuesday, and that means the world of Destiny has been reset. You can now once again earn Marks, get loot from the raid, and loot for running the Weekly Heroic and Nightfall strike. Speaking of, for those strikes you’ll be heading to the Moon to take down the giant orge known as Phogoth. It’s an easy strike though, but check out the guide below.

Going to make this one quick, so here are the bounties for 11/25:

Vanguard Bounties

Target: Aksor, Archon Priest Defeat Aksor, Archon Priest in the “Winter’s Run” Strike on Venus. +50 / +2,500
It’s All in the Head Kill 100 enemies with precision damage. +50 / +2,500
Cleansing Light Kill 3 or more enemies with a single super use, 20 times. +50 / +2,500
Unstoppable Earn 9000 Experience without dying. (Does not include Bounty XP reward.) +50 / +2,500
Target: Banuk, Ur Prince Defeat Banuk in the “Sword of Crota” mission on the Moon with the Heroic modifier active. +50 / +2,500
Patrol Cosmodrome Complete 6 Patrol missions in the Cosmodrome. +50 / +2,500

Get Unstoppable and run the daily on level 28. If you don’t die, then you’ll get it. If you do die, you’ll still be pretty close.

Crucible Bounties

Broken Scholar Defeat 25 Warlocks in the Crucible. +75 / +3,750
Stopping Power Earn 10 Buckshot Bruiser medals. +100 / +5,000
Electrocutioner Earn 10 Fusion Rifle Sprees in the Crucible. +100 / +5,000
Reclamation Complete 5 Salvage Matches. +100 / +5,000
Headhunter Defeat 50 Guardians with headshots. +100 / +5,000
That’s How I Roll Earn 5 Multikill medals. +100 / +5,000

The Crucible playlist for today is Control.

Daily Heroic Mission: A Stranger’s Call

Location: Ishtar Sink, Venus

  • Follow the Stranger’s coordinates to a legendary colony lost in the jungles of Venus.

  • HEROIC – Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive.
  • JUGGLER – No ammo drops for your equipped weapon.

  • Cryptarch Engram
  • Vanguard Marks +5
  • +4800 XP (lvl 20) l +6000 XP (lvl 24) l +7500 XP (lvl 28)
  • Ascendant Material (lvl 24) l 2 Ascendant Materials (lvl 28)

This is the first story mission on Venus. Pretty easy if you get on the second (top) balcony. Nothing spawns up there whereas they will spawn on the bottom balcony. Only thing to this mission is to fight off a few waves of Vex. Some hobgoblins and a few minotaurs. Ice Breaker (because of the Juggler modifier) and a good rocket launcher are preferred here. If you’re not safely above, then make sure you’re continuously moving and killing thing. The Vex will teleport, so you don’t want to just stand on the ground in one spot shooting. That’s a good way to get overrun.

Weekly Heroic Strike & Nightfall: The Summoning Pits

Location: Ocean of Storms, Moon

  • The Hive gather the Darkness around them as they raise abominations from their pits within the Moon.

Weekly Heroic Modifiers:

  • HEROIC – Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive.
  • ANGRY – Minions of the Darkness won’t flinch, even after massive damage.

Weekly Heroic Rewards:

  • 3 Strange Coins (lvl 22) l 6 Strange Coins (lvl 26) l 9 Strange Coins (lvl 28)
  • Cryptarch Engram
  • 3 Vanguard Marks (lvl 22) l 6 Vanguard Marks (lvl 26) l 10 Vanguard Marks (lvl 28)
  • 150 Vanguard Rep (lvl 22) l 250 Vanguard Rep (lvl 26) l 400 Vanguard Rep (lvl 28)

Nightfall Modifiers:

  • EPIC – Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers..
  • ANGRY – Minions of the Darkness won’t flinch, even after massive damage.
  • JUGGLER – No ammo drops for your equipped weapon.
  • VOID BURN – Void Damage from any source is greatly increased.
  • NIGHTFALL – If all players die, your Fireteam is returned to Orbit.

Nightfall Rewards:

  • Unknown Rewards

This is one of the easier strikes. The Weekly won’t be any problem. The angry modifier won’t matter much, that really only matters when you’re facing the Cabal. The hardest part of this strike is waiting on your Ghost to open the door while you fight off waves of enemies. Those waves include lots of Knights, and even worse major wizards. Bring an Ice Breaker, but for the Nightfall also have a good void sniper or fusion rifle. Use your Ice Breaker when it needed, but when it gets to six bullets switch over to your void special. You’ll get free ammo, which is important with the Juggler modifier going.

Killing Phogoth isn’t hard. Just cheese it by staying behind the door to the room you have to enter to even get to Phogoth. Run out, take shots at him, and then quickly retreat back out of that room and get back behind the door. You can’t just stay in that room, because if you do you’re going to spawn a Shrieker. And with the Void Burn active on the Nightfall, you’ll die quickly. So just run through the room, get some shots off, and quickly get back. Stand behind the door, take a few sniper shots at Phogoth, and then when he gets back out of sight, rinse and repeat.

Here’s a video from YouTube showing how to cheese it.

That’s all for today Guardians. Get out there and complete those bounties, and the Nightfall mission (do it first and get that 25% XP/REP boost). Let us know in the comments below what loot you get from the Nightfall.
