Destiny Daily 2/10/15: Head Into The Nexus For This Week’s Nightfall, Daily Bounties

Destiny Daily

The Destiny world has been reset, and this time our Triple Burn greatness has come to an end. We head into the Nexus for the Nightfall this week, and since there are minotaurs and the Nexus mind the only burn we get is Void. Of course. • LIGHTSWITCH – Minions of the darkness deal much more melee damage.

You’re going to want to avoid getting close to enemies here. I’d recommend sprinting past the first area where the Hive and the Fallen are fighting and jump over enemies if need be, if you want to get through it as quickly as possible. It’s just not necessary fight that battle. But you have to be quick and good at jumping.

Once through there though, you’ll come to an area where you’ll have to kill a Fallen Baron. He’s not really that difficult, but hit him and fast and hard with the most powerful stuff you’ve got (ideally doing arc damage to get his shield down quickly). He will teleport and hide if you take your time, and you don’t want that shield to be continuously getting put up. Don’t get too carried away on the Baron though, as there are stealth vandals here that are just waiting to one shot you thanks to the Lightswitch modifier.

After defeating the Baron, unless you just need the experience or don’t think you’re fast enough, sprint and jump your way through the rest of the mission. There isn’t another battle after the Baron that absolutely needs to be fought, so why fight unless you need to? If you go the sprint route, you still need to be aware of where the enemies are and jumping over them. There will be Dreg’s and of course Thrall’s that could be a problem. There’s also some knights, a wizard, and an orge.

Once you get past the orge, have a super, rocket, or machine gun ready. As you start to enter a little tunnel like area, a group of Thrall’s will rush at you and they’ll have a Knight behind them. You can’t really afford to get hit by any of these, so you’ll want to take them out and do so quickly.

Past that area, you’re home free. Take out the acolytes, activate the console, and wait for the large knight to appear. Pull out your best sniper rifle and shoot him in the face until he falls. There will be additional trash around him, and you’ll want to keep an eye on them and take them out when necessary. Don’t let them sneak up on you and melee you from behind. Sardok isn’t much of a threat really, as you can easily dodge his attacks, so shoot him in the face until he dies. Shouldn’t take long.

Unknown Rewards

Bring your void weapons, and remember you can skip most of the fights on the way to the boss. You really only have to complete the kill the three servitors section and then you can run past everything else to get to the end boss. Just be quick, and remember that if you stay up top there’s going to be a minotaur that will spawn every 30 seconds or so.

For the three servitors section, it’s best to have something that does Solar damage because those shielded shanks can be pesky. Thankfully all of the Fallen, except the servitors, do arc damage, so you won’t die quickly from them.

This one is easy to solo, just be careful with the splash damage from the Nexus mind.

Here’s a video from YouTube showing how to cheese it:

Make sure you do the Nightfall before doing anything else (other than heading to the Tower to pick up a few bounties) so that you can get the buff for everything else you do this week. If you get a good loot drop, be sure to let us know in the comments below.

That’s all for today Guardians. See you all tomorrow morning.
