Destiny Weekly 5/12 – 5/18: Prepare To Face The Wolves By Silencing The Will of Crota

Destiny Weekly

UPDATE: Bungie has just tweeted that patch 1.2.0 will no longer deploy today.

Welcome Guardians to your Destiny Weekly report for the week of May 12th through May 18th. Today, at around 12pm CT, Bungie will be releasing patch 1.2.0. This patch brings some world changes as well as makes the final preparations for the release of House of Wolves next week. Once the patch drops, and Bungie releases the patch notes, a separate post will go up and this post will be updated with the link to check out the patch notes.

Last week, Winter’s Run popped up as the Nightfall and Weekly Heroic very soon after its last weekly appearance. This week is another quick repeat, as it is once again Omingul; The Will of Crota. I suppose it’s fitting that The Dark Below’s strike is the last Nightfall before House of Wolves releases.

This should be the last week that the Nightfall and the Heroic are the same strike. Bungie has already said that they’ll be making sure the weekly activities are different each week, and that non-DLC owning players won’t be locked out of every end-game activity when a DLC strike is featured (i.e. if The Shadow Thief is the Nightfall, then a vanilla Destiny strike will be the Heroic).

Anyway, let’s get to it. Here is your Nightfall and Weekly Heroic for the week of May 12th through May 18th.

The Will of Crota

Old Russia, Earth

“Omnigul, the mastermind of Crota”s armies, nests in the Cosmodrome. Eliminate this horror and purge its spawn.”

Weekly Heroic Modifiers:

  • Heroic – Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive.
  • Juggler – No ammo drops for your equipped weapon.

Level 24:

  • Cryptarch Engram
  • 3 Strange Coins
  • 3 Vanguard Marks
  • 150 Vanguard/Faction Rep

Level 28:

  • Cryptarch Engram
  • 6 Strange Coins
  • 6 Vanguard Marks
  • 250 Vanguard/Faction Rep

Level 30:

  • Cryptarch Engram
  • 9 Strange Coins
  • 10 Vanguard Marks
  • 400 Vanguard/Faction Rep

Nightfall Modifiers:

  • Nightfall – You will face a relentless army that has never known defeat. If all players die, you will be returned to orbit.
  • Epic – Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers.
  • Arc Burn – Arc damage from any source is greatly increased.
  • Lightswitch – Minions of the Darkness deal much more melee damage.
  • Juggler – No ammo drops for your equipped weapon.

  • Unknown Rewards

This one isn’t that bad, and it’s a good time to pop some Ether Seeds and Black Wax Idol if you’re running low on Glimmer. Just hang back and avoid the stealth vandals, shanks, and eventually thrall and take pot shots at Omingul and you’ll be good.
