Destiny Daily 5/13/15: Ishtar Collective, Help With Raids, Daily Bounties

Destiny Daily

UPDATE: Bungie community manager DeeJ posted the following on the forums regarding patch 1.2.0:

Good morning, Guardians (or afternoon or evening, wherever you are).

I’ve spoken with the finest minds at Bungie about Update 1.2.0 just moments ago. They’re working to correct a late-breaking technical issue that would have impacted the way the game launches for a large portion of you. Progress is being made.

We’ll be sharing new details on the deployment schedule that leads to House of Wolves as soon as they become facts. At the very least, you’ll hear from me once a day about this. Hang in there, and thank you for your patience.

DeeJ, out.

*End update.

Well yesterday was suppose to be an interesting day, but then Bungie went announced that their patch schedule had “changed slightly” and patch 1.2.0 would no longer be deploying yesterday. They told us to stay tuned for more information. A day later, and at the time of this post going live, there has been no further information. Patch 1.2.0 could drop today, tomorrow, or even Monday… we just don’t know yet (when Bungie announces something, I’ll update).

I ran the Nightfall twice yesterday and received my 42nd Exotic Shard in the form of the ATS/8 hunter helmet (I already have one I’ll never use and with a better roll at that), and the Dead Orbit sniper rifle that I had wanted for quite some time (not that I’ll every use it now that I have Efrideet’s Spear in all three elemental damage types). The guy I ran the Nightfall’s with had terrible luck, getting 10 Ascendant Shards and then 7 Ascendant Shards.

I also got three legendary engrams yesterday: special weapon (drop from the Daily Heroic), boots (reward from the Daily Heroic), and heavy weapon (Cryptarch package). Those turned into Plug One, Gravebreaker, and One Way Ticket. I dismantled all of them gladly… can’t wait to make my Shards and Energy worth something again.

Here are the bounties for today, May 13th:

Vanguard Bounties

  • Unstoppable – Earn 9,000 Experience without dying. [ 50 Rep / 2,500 XP ]
  • It’s All in the Head – Kill 100 enemies with Precision Damage.  [ 50 Rep / 2,500 XP ]
  • Overcharge – Kill 2 enemies at once with a Fusion Rifle, 20 times. [ 100 Rep / 5,000 XP ]
  • Target: Aksor, Archon Priest – Defeat Aksor, Archon Priest in the ‘Winters Run’ strike on Venus. [ 50 Rep / 2,500 XP ]
  • Target: Banuk, Ur Prince – Kill Banuk in the “Sword Of Crota” mission on the moon with the Heroic modifier active.  [ 50 Rep / 2,500 XP ]
  • Patrol Venus – Complete 6 Patrol missions on Venus. [ 50 Rep / 2,500 XP, 10 Spirit Bloom ]

Not a bad day for Vanguard bounties. If you do the Daily, which you should now, make sure to grab Unstoppable and complete the Daily on the highest difficulty that you can. If you have a Vex Mythoclast, you can quickly get the Overcharge bounty in the process.

Crucible Bounties

  • Death or Glory – Complete 5 Clash Matches. [ 100 Rep / 5,000 XP ]
  • Dominion – Complete 5 Control Matches. [ 100 Rep / 5,000 XP ]
  • Ash and Dust – Defeat 15 Guardians with a Rocket Launcher. [ 50 Rep / 2,500 XP ]
  • Back Scratcher – Earn 50 Assists in the Crucible. [ 50 Rep / 2,500 XP ]
  • Forged in Fire – Win 3 Crucible matches. [ 100 Rep / 5,000 XP ]
  • Party’s Over – Earn 5 Enforcer medals. [ 100 Rep / 5,000 XP ]

The Crucible playlist for today is Rumble. All easy bounties today, jump in and complete the Death or Glory and Dominion bounties for any easy 200 rep and 10,000 XP. Might as well grab the others as well, because over the course of 10 games, you’re likely to complete at least Back Scratcher, Forged in Fire, and Party’s Over.

Ishtar Collective

Ishtar Sink, Venus

“Unravel the secrets of the Vex by reviving an ancient research station of the Ishtar Collective.”

  • Heroic – Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive.
  • Angry – Minions of the Darkness won’t flinch, even after massive damage.

Level 22:

  • Cryptarch Engram
  • 10 Spirit Bloom
  • 5 Vanguard Marks
  • 4,800 XP

Level 26:

  • Ascendant Material
  • Cryptarch Engram
  • 12 Spirit Bloom
  • 5 Vanguard Marks
  • 6,000 XP

Level 30:

  • 2 Ascendant Materials
  • Cryptarch Engram
  • 16 Spirit Bloom
  • 5 Vanguard Marks
  • 7,500 XP

This mission isn’t so bad purely because it’s Angry against Fallen and Vex. The big Vex mind core isn’t so bad, and since it is in a public area there will likely be three or four others around who will be shooting it as well. Once you get to the Darkness zone, you can get overran by a mixture of shanks, dreg’s, and sniper vandals if you just run out into the thick of things, but you should be okay (this is a good mission to carry a shotgun, preferably a void one but it doesn’t really matter). Once you take out the Fallen captain, remaining dregs should despawn and you’ll deploy your ghost.

You’ll have waves of Vex harpies, and then goblins. Eventually, goblins will be joined by hobgoblins and minotaurs (including majors). The Angry modifier means they’re coming for you despite your shooting them, and there’s nothing like having an angry minotaur charging right towards you. Luckily any decent shotgun will make quick work of the big guys, although you certainly don’t want to run around like a mad man trying to shotgun them all quickly. That’s a good way to die. Always make sure you have an escape route, because you will get hit and need to retreat from time to time. Rocket launchers, particularly void ones, are also really good here if you want to keep your distance and take out a lot at once.

Hopefully patch 1.2.0 will deploy today; I don’t personally think it will, but we’ll see. If not, I hope Bungie at least says something about when it will actually drop or, if nothing else, release the patch notes. I wouldn’t even mind it coming out tomorrow or Friday, but I’d definitely like to know what all to expect from 1.2.0. If Bungie says anything, I’ll update the top of the post.

If you’re on PS4 and have never done a raid before, send me a friend request (and be sure to include a message letting me know you read the series and want to raid) and I’ll make sure you get to do one. My crew usually raids Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Crota normal and Vault normal, and eventually some hard mode runs. My PSN is PatriotPaine. A mic is not required, and level doesn’t really matter much (at least 24 for Vault normal and at least 27 for Crota normal). The same also goes for those of you who don’t raid often, or just don’t have a regular group to raid with and have to deal with LFG sites and the stupidity and elitism that can come from those sites. Myself and the rest of the Last City Vanguardians are friendly people and are more than happy to raid with you. We may even invite you to join the clan.

That’s going to wrap it up for today. If you’ve ran the Nightfall (or finished some raids already), let me know what loot you got by dropping a comment below. Also, be sure and let me know what legendaries items you’re planning on ascending first once House of Wolves releases and you get some Etheric Light. I’m going with armor first, just to get to level 34 faster, but after that I’ll be upgrading my Fatebringer first and then my old The Devil You Know just because it’ll be fun to use my once favorite gun again at 365 attack.
