The month of May has but a few days remaining; we’ll soon be in June which means 2015 will be half way gone. Seems like a perfect time to quickly talk about the state of Vortex Effect and the year that has been thus far. The banner says “monthly address,” but I doubt it. After all, this banner was made quite some time ago and I don’t feel like updating it.
It has been a relatively slow year for the site. I quit doing Destiny Daily early on, and just brought it back (although actually playing House of Wolves has thus far prevented my writing it daily… it will return to form soon though). Outside of that, I have done very little around the site other than change up some visuals. I haven’t written many reviews and everything else has laid dormant as well.
God bless my man Jules, he has effectively kept the site going all on his own with his Quick Daily Reviews. He has been an absolute steadfast beast with that series with 113 consecutive days as of today. I tried that once before, and only lasted 50 days. To say that Jules has been invaluable to the site would be an understatement. He has been the anchor that has kept the site afloat this year, and I can’t thank him enough for that.
I’ve been neglectful long enough though, and Jules will soon have some company up here toiling away on VortexEffect.net. June will see a renewed focus on reviews from myself. Not just gaming reviews (of which a review of Farming Simulator ’15 and Portal Pinball will be coming the first week of June), but also movie, television, and wrestling reviews. There will also be a renewed focus on the latest “news” in gaming, entertainment, and wrestling. Having said that, I don’t want “news” to dominate the site, so there will also be quite a bit more original content going up covering a wide range of topics.
Destiny Daily will start back going strong effective June 1st. That series will also bring some attention back to our YouTube channel, as well as live streaming on Twitch (although I’ll probably do that more on my channel rather than the TVE one). There will be more Destiny content all around, but it won’t be dominating. After all, this isn’t a Destiny site… it’s just the game that I’ve been most enjoying since last June when I played the Alpha for the first time.
Basically, June will begin the process of getting Vortex Effect back to where it was. A frequently updated throughout the day site covering a huge range of topics with both typical news items (although our news posts have always contained opinions at the end) and original content. It’ll be a gradual uptick, but the ball will definitely get rolling in June.
Those of you who have stuck with us, thanks for reading. The site will soon be back on track.
