Destiny Daily 9/1/15: Weekly Reset, Final Week to Prep For Update 2.0

Destiny Daily

It’s September! One week from today patch 2.0 will release and Destiny’s first year will come to an end, just one day short of a full year. So for the preppers among us, this is the final week to do what you need to do. Complete any 5,000 XP bounty that you can, but don’t turn it in. You should have 10 of these stored up for when the leveling changes go live. That’ll give you 50,000 XP just from bounties, 55,000 if you have a completed Iron Wrath bounty.

You should also cap out your Vanguard or Crucible Marks, as you’ll all of your marks will be converted into Commendations that you can use to level up factions. You may have some wiggle room to purchase a vendor item this week and still get some Vanguard/Crucible Marks next week, but then I’m not sure if the Legendary Marks will become a thing with 2.0 or The Taken King. I assume The Taken King. If that’s the case, you can spend what you have and use this week and next week to cap back out.

Here are the bounties for 9/1:

Vanguard Bounties

  • TARGET: Valus Ta’aurc – Defeat Valus Ta’aurc in the “Cerberus Vae III” Strike on Mars.
  • Walking Tall – Complete any Strike without dying.
  • Relic Harvest Venus – Collect 200 Pumice Threads on Venus.
  • Exalted Hive – Kill 10 Hive Majors or Ultras.
  • Body Dropper – Kill 100 enemies without dying.
  • Patrol Mars – Complete 6 Patrol missions on Mars.
The Nightfall this week is Valus Ta’aurc, so you might as well grab that bounty, Walking Tall, and of course the Eris bounty before heading off to conquer this week’s fun Nightfall.

Crucible Bounties

  • Shake The Pillars – Defeat 25 Titans in the Crucible.
  • Forged In Fire – Win 3 Crucible Matches.
  • Never See You Coming – Defeat 10 Guardians from behind.
  • Stopping Power – Kill 15 Guardians with a Shotgun.
  • Electrocutioner – Kill 15 Guardians with a Fusion Rifle.
  • No Riding Zone – Defeat 10 Guardians on Vehicles.

The Daily PVP Playlist is Control – Dead Sectors

Dead Orbit desires new territories to expand their reach beyond the City. Capture zones to increase points for every kill.

Rewards:

  • Crucible Gear
  • Crucible Marks
  • Crucible Reputation
  • XP Bonus

The Weekly PVP Playlists Events are:

  • Salvage
  • House of Wolves – Inferno Clash
  • House of Wolves – Elimination

The Archive

Ishtar Sink, Venus

“Find the Collective’s lost Archive, sealed for centuries, in a vault deep beneath the Ishtar Academy.”

  • Ascendant Materials x2
  • Cryptarch Engram x1
  • Spirit Bloom x16
  • Vanguard Marks x5
  • XP Bonus x7500

This is one of the “hardest” Daily Heroic’s from vanilla Destiny purely because of the Lightswitch modifier. There’s quite a few stealth vandals with swords, and it is very easy to forget about one of them and get cut down. Do this one cautiously, and carry a shotgun.

At some point today we’ll get our first look at the Court of Oryx, as Bungie will be releasing a brief teaser video for the reveal stream tomorrow. Even though these teasers are typically only 30 seconds, they still usually show enough to get you excited for the reveal. When they release that teaser, I’ll be sure to post it on the site.

That’s going to do it for today. Get out there and enjoy your final week of year one, and your final two weeks before everything switches over to The Taken King.
