Now Gaming: What We’re Playing This Week (October Week 2)

nowgaming

It’s been a while since we last did this feature, but if you read our Monthly Address for October then you know we’re in the process of getting the site back on track and of course that meant the return of Now Gaming. It may end up being a little shorter than previously because we’ll probably have less people partaking on a weekly basis. Still, we’re excited to get this series rolling again and making it a Wednesday staple of the site.

So without further ado, here’s what we’re playing this week…

Brian Hall Playing

Watch_Dogs (PS4)

Watch_Dogs got my vote for game of the year last year (one of the few that didn’t go to Destiny around here) despite the fact that I didn’t play it as much as I wanted to. I thought about picking up where I left off, but decided to start a new game since I hadn’t played in a while. I have not been disappointed with this decision, as between the main story and various side quests I’m at about 25% overall completion in a week. This is just a great game that gives you the option to go stealth or go guns a blazin’, or mix it up, which is what I have been doing so far.

Also playing: Madden NFL 25, MLB ’14 The Show, Oblivion, & WWE ’13

Destiny: The Taken King (PS4)

This should come as no surprise. Of course I’m playing Destiny. It has completely dominated my gaming time since its release last year, and the release of The Taken King last month has only further cemented it as a daily staple for me. This has been a fairly big week for Destiny as the Iron Banner just returned yesterday, and of course Bungie also added the Eververse Trading Company to the game which is a microtransaction store that allows gamers to purchase emotes for their characters.  I just don’t know when Destiny isn’t going to be dominating my PS4. I have all three of my characters up to 300+ Light Level now, and I’m hopeful to finally start doing the King’s Fall raid three times a week. Might not happen this week, simply because of the Iron Banner. There’s always something to do in Destiny, and the hunt now for better gear, better perk rolls, and higher light is a driving force in ensuring that I’m logging in day after day and will continue to do so for the forseeable future.  If you’re not playing Destiny right now, you should be.

Also playing: Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight, NCAA Football ’14

Finishing up MGS Phantom Pain, still playing Destiny, going to be likely returning to Witcher 3 in the near future to start in on its expansion pack content and also have Dragon Age Inquisition’s last DLCs to play through as well. I have Mad Max floating somewhere in the mix, too.

Now you are know what some of us are playing this week, so now we want to know what game(s) you’re spending time with this week. Let us know in the comments below, and if it is one that we didn’t mention, pretend/assume we haven’t played it and sell us on it.

Until next week, game on!
