Weekend Box Office Report January 8th – 10th: Star Wars On Top, Revenant Soars To Second

For the fourth straight week, Star Wars: The Force Awakens reigns on top of the weekend box office bringing in an estimated $41.6 million bringing its domestic total to  $812,011,043 ($1,733,411,043 world wide total).

However the big one this week was Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant, which expanded to over 3,300 theaters and surged all the way to second (23 last week) with an estimated total of $38 million.

Daddy’s Home continues to fare well, slipping to third place ($15 million), while The Forest debuts at number four ($13 million). Sisters rounds out the top five with an estimated $7 million.
