Looking to hit the theater this week but don’t know what to see? We’ve got you covered. Here’s a look at the new releases hitting the big screen this week.
Everybody Wants Some!! – The movie centers on freshmen – played by Blake Jenner, Tyler Hoechlin, Wyatt Russell, among others – who work their way through the first year of college life, as they try to make the baseball team.
Miles Ahead – “Miles Ahead” tells the story of a few lost days in the life of Miles Davis (Don Cheadle), the virtuoso, fighter and genius, as he bursts out of his silent period, conspires with a Rolling Stone writer (Ewan McGregor) to steal back his music, and relives the years he had with his great love, Frances Taylor (Emayatzy Corinealdi).
Pandemic – “Pandemic” is set in the near future, where a virus of epic proportions has overtaken the planet. There are more infected than uninfected, and humanity is losing its grip on survival. Its only hope is finding a cure and keeping the infected contained. Lauren (Rachel Nichols) is a doctor, who, after the fall of New York, comes to Los Angeles to lead a team to hunt for and rescue uninfected survivors.
The Dark Horse – An emotionally charged and inspiring drama about a man who searches for the courage to lead, despite his own adversities – finding purpose and hope in passing on his gift to the children in his community.
God’s Not Dead 2 – “God’s Not Dead 2” centers on Grace (Melissa Joan Hart), a Christian teacher, who is forced before a judge for honestly answering a question about Jesus in the classroom. With the principal and superintendent joining forces with a zealous civil liberties group, Grace faces an epic court case that could cost her a career she loves and expel God from the classroom.
Meet The Blacks – “Meet the Blacks” is comedy/horror hybrid spoofing the hit film “The Purge,” and stars Mike Epps, George Lopez, Mike Tyson and Bresha Webb.
Pick of the Week
Well it’s a lousy week, so my recommendation could very well be just to stay home and watch something on Netflix. But, as we do, the pick of the week is “Miles Ahead” starring Don Cheadle and Ewan McGregor.
And actually, “God’s Not Dead 2” doesn’t look half bad.
