Bungie released the following Rise of Iron ViDoc today in Germany during a livestream to kick off Gamescom:
In addition, Bungie also confirmed that the heavily requested Crucible feature Private Matches will be coming to Destiny on PS4 and Xbox One when Rise of Iron launches on September 20th. Note that you will not have to own Rise of Iron to do private matches, although you’ll need to own Rise of Iron to do the new Supremacy game mode (it’s Kill Confirmed) and the new maps.
Private matches aren’t quite custom games (i.e. you can’t set it to no special weapons or modifiers or anything like that), but you can go into any crucible mode with your friends and even solo if you just want to learn a map. You can set the score limit, time limit, pick a specific map, change the time of day, enable or disable light levels, or allow vehicles if it’s one of the bigger maps. You will be able to do 1v1 as well, and the most players that can participate is still 12 and there can be no more than six on a team (but you can do a 6v1 or 6v2 Control/Clash/Rift/Supremacy if you’d like).
Rise of Iron releases on September 20th, exclusively for PS4 and Xbox One. Today marked the official separation of the game from the legacy consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360), which will no longer be receiving updates and will lose access to some content at the end of the month.
