Apologies are in order. I let Vortex Effect and Pro Wrestling Post both go an entire month with absolutely nothing, which considering I was trying to rebuild this site and had just launched PW Post is pretty terrible. That’s no way to run a website.
I got fairly addicted to Neverwinter when it released on PS4 back on July 19th. It basically consumed every ounce of free time that I could give to it, and even caused me to not play practically any Destiny in over a month, which has been unheard of for me since Destiny has been my go to since it released in September 2014.
So with that said, I’m going to limiting my time with Neverwinter for a number of reasons with the biggest being a desire to make this site a priority for me and get it to where I want it to be. Also because there’s only so many times I can queue up to face Demogorgon only for it to not find a group, or try an Epic Dungeon with a group of randoms and have it go terribly, and I’ve hit the big wall where there’s really no way for me to progress my character without refining my equipment. And that’s like roughly 500,000 refinement points just to upgrade my offhand weapon from rare to epic, so to say nothing of my main weapon and my artifacts, plus my enchantments.
Neverwinter is a great game. Best MMO I’ve played, but then I’m not really familiar with the genre anyway. I’ve largely enjoyed the time I’ve spent playing the game, and I’ll continue to do so of course. After all, I’ve got like 120+ days left on my VIP and I’ve put $60 into this free game (and that’s my max; I enjoyed it a ton and played far more of it than I have retail games I’ve spent $80 on like The Division).
I may even have a review of it up soon, with the note that I still haven’t beaten all of the Epic Dungeons or completed all of the campaigns (for the most part, I still just have Icewind Dale left to do).
But I won’t be devoting even half of the free time to it anymore. I’ve had my fun and now it’s time to actually get back to writing about games and movies here, and wrestling over on PW Post. So updates are resuming, and this time I’m going to force myself to not take any extended breaks from the site. I have goals for the sites going into the next year, and I’m going to meet them. There needs to be a steady stream of content being posted every day, and I’m going to make that happen.
Basically, it’s time to get back to business, and this post is to let our visitors/followers know that the drought is over and Vortex Effect is getting back on track.
