Destiny Festival of the Lost Returns October 25th

Bungie has released a new trailer to showcase Destiny’s Halloween themed two week event, Festival of the Lost. The festival returns Tuesday, October 25th and will last until November 8th. Check out the trailer below:

Smith’s Sentiment: This was a fun and silly event last year, and while I’m looking forward to its return (a lot of that stuff looks fantastic), I am not looking forward to aspects of it. Too much of Destiny is starting to be locked away behind a pay wall, and while I agree that silly non-light items like these masks and the ornaments is purely cosmetic and thus no way necessary to have, I am not a fan of Destiny’s terrible RNG being a part of it. I don’t have a problem with this stuff having to be bought (although with time and effort I think you should be able to get everything for free), but I do have a problem with the randomness of it.

I’d be more likely to spend a few bucks for Silver if I knew I could get exactly what I want from a package (a Radiant Treasure or this Treasure of the Lost). I’m not likely to spend $10 in the hopes of getting a specific Ghost shell, sparrow, or flaming mask. If you want me to spend money, let me get what I actually want. My RNG is bad enough as it is, I certainly don’t want to pay Bungie/Activision to get further screwed over.
