Deus Ex Franchise On Hiatus

Deus Ex

According to a report from Eurogamer, Square Enix has put the Deus Ex franchise on hiatus as developer Eidos Montreal aides Crystal Dynamics on The Avengers game, which we won’t hear anymore about until 2018. According the report, Eidos Montreal is also heading up a second Marvel game, one based on Guardians of the Galaxy.

Besides probably seeing the Marvel franchise has more profitable, Deus Ex: Manknd Divided under performed selling worse than Human Revolution.

Eurogamer received the following response from publisher Square Enix:

“While we are still working on expanding the Deus Ex Universe, along with creating new content and updates for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, we’re also devoting our talents towards working with Crystal Dynamics and Marvel on The Avengers project.”

The final bit of DLC for Mankind Divided’s season pass, A Criminal Past, which acts as a prequel to the game, is set to be released on February 23rd.

Don’t expect to see another Deus Ex game for quite some time.
