Jack Swagger Granted Release from WWE

Former WWE World Champion Jack Swagger called into the Beyond The Fight podcast today and announced that he asked for and has received his release from WWE. Swagger noted that he requested his release due to lack of opportunities from the company.

Swagger had been with WWE since 2006, but for whatever reason had been used sparingly over the past year.

WWE has yet to confirm the release.

Swagger is looking for opportunities and may be open to stepping inside an MMA cage. Swagger’s old manager, Zeb Colter, was just named the head of creative in TNA, so Swagger does have friends in high places elsewhere.
