A few days ago Jack Swagger appeared on a podcast and announced that he had requested his release from WWE, but WWE has kept him on the roster page and made no mention of his release on their website.
Today, Jack Swagger was booked for his first post-WWE appearance where he was scheduled to face off against Alberto El Patron in a WrestleMania rematch for WWA on March 11th.
That match isn’t going to happen. WWE released the following statement to PWInsider today:
Jack Swagger has not been granted a release from his WWE contract. When he is granted his release, Jack Swagger will remain under exclusive contract to WWE for 90 days and will be compensated accordingly during that period.
So as of right now, Jack Swagger hasn’t been granted his release and when he is, it’ll be 90 days before he can compete elsewhere.
Seems like this isn’t going to be an easy release and that Swagger is probably burning some bridges.
