EA and DICE caught a lot of flack for the way they handled DLC and the Season Pass for Battlefront. It seems they’ve learned from that criticism and will have a different approach for Battlefront II.
They announced at EA Play that Star Wars: Battlefront II will feature free DLC drops during themed seasons.
The free content will include characters, maps, modes, weapons, vehicles, and more.
The first of these themed seasons will arrive in December, and is based on The Last Jedi. During the season, Battlefront II players will receieve free Finn and Captain Phasma DLC characters, plus a new map based on Crait from The Last Jedi.
Star Wars: Battlefront II is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 17th.
Smith’s Sentiment: The looks absolutely gorgeous, which really isn’t surprising because Battlefront did as well. I’m liking the approach they’re taking. Free content helps keep the community together, and themed seasons seems like a good way to generate some excitement.
