This Week on PlayStation: New Games for 1/23/18

PlayStation Store

This week, a couple of anticipated games appealing to different playstyles arrive on PlayStation systems (and others). The big hitter this week releases Friday, Capcom’s action-RPG Monster Hunter World. This marks the first time Monster Hunter has been a PlayStation console since the series debuted on PS2 back in 2004. There’s a lot of hype and buzz surrounding World, which is also coming to PC and Xbox One.

On Tuesday, Square Enix’s Lost Sphear releases digitally on PS4 (and Nintendo Switch). This JRPG is developed by Tokyo RPG Factory and is the spiritual successor to I Am Setsuna. Lost Sphear emulates the JRPG’s of the 90s and features the old Active Time Battle system.

PlayStation VR gets its next big exclusive release on Tuesday when The Inpatient arrives. This first person horror game is developed by Supermassive Games, and serves as a prequel to their 2015 horror title Until Dawn. The Inpatient takes place 60 years before the events of Until Dawn.

Below is the full list of new games coming to PlayStation systems this week.
